I have read WAY to many real estate investing books to list, and Chris's book, "Real Estate on your terms" is the one I've been looking for. Chris breaks down his model into easily understand concepts.You buy a home via Lease Option, you sell it to someone who wants to own a home, but needs some help with their credit also on a lease option, and you get THREE different paydays.... with NO MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET!!I have read some books with similar concepts, but not the way Chris and his team do it.Do what Chris tells you to do, stick to it, and you will be successful. GET THIS BOOK.

Loved itChris explains his different approach to the traditional manner of buying investment real estate, in an easy to read and understand wayThe book is full of real life examples....no fluff...... I've been in Real Estate on and off for almost 10 years, from flipping homes to wholesaling contracts. This book and system of real estate investing is incredible! No where else do you provide such a valuable service to both desperate Home Sellers and desperate Home Buyers. Chris has gone through the worst real estate losses of anyone I know of, but he didn't let it stop him or hold him down. He built upon those losses to come up with a model for investing that is more lucrative than anything else I've seen. You won't hear this model from anyone else. Chris has a nack for being able to cut through the fog and light up the next step for you to take. He's practical and is willing to share his knowledge with others until they become successful in the process as well.

Some of the comparisons don't make sense--like turn to the Baskin Robbins section--why is Rocky Road ice cream bad (290 calories, 15gfat (8 sat), 32g sugar), but Two Scoop Hot Fudge Sundae is good (530 calories, 29g fat (19sat) and 52 g of sugar.) WHAT???? I don't get it.*I wouldn't take the caloric facts as *fact*--For instance under the SONIC section, the authors list the Grilled Chicken Wrap as only having 380 calories but fails to mention that this is without dressing. Double check the caloric content on the restaurant's website before eating.*Contradictory. Apparently, Goldfish crackers are bad when they're coming from a vending machine (p. 193) but good when coming off a store shelf. (216).

This book seems to consider only fat and calories as a determination on whether you should eat one food over the other. This gives rather awkward recommendations to still tell you to eat a Krispy Kreme doughnut over some other doughnut. Or one ice cream or candy over another. Yet, in both cases, neither is good for the dieting consumer.How is this book helpful when there is only one recommendation in a restaurant? How would I know that the sandwich being recommended is insignificantly different than another?This book could become quickly outdated as restaurants change their offerings or ingredients. I would venture to say some restaurants have already made this book out of date.Does anyone want to make the effort to take this book around with them and nitpick over this, possibly forcing one to eat the same thing every time they visit each restaurant?The book is just a glamour, glitzy puff piece with little value. If any of this is that important to you, just pick up the nutrition guide at the restaurant. Smaller, more convenient and updated regularly, for free.

This book has some good info, but not sure that I have the time to devote to it to put it into practice. It seem to be a good idea at the time, but have not gotten around to reading it, basically just skimmed over it, so don't have too much of an opinion at this time.

I love this book, its organization, its attitude; but my confidence in it was shaken when I came upon (p. 195) Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise, a household staple of mine, classified as a "Not That" because it allegedly contained 90 calories and 10 grams of fat.Those are the stats for regular Hellmann's! Hellmann's Light actually has 35 calories and 3.5 grams of fat.The "Eat This Not That" franchise has morphed quickly into quite a juggernaut, with updates published frequently. What a job this must be! But have the multiple editions come at the cost of the accuracy we (and Oprah!) depend on the ZincZenko/Goulding team for?Guys, please, at least put an "Erratum" page on your website.

I recently bought the 2010 Eat this Not That The No-Diet Weight Loss Solution and also The Eat this Not That Supermarket Survival Guide. I read the No-Diet Weight Loss Solution first and in the section of "frozen treats" it said to eat Creamsicle Orange & Raspberry which I went out and bought right away. Then I started to read the Supermarket Survival Guide and in the fruit bars and frozen treats section, this same item was in the not to eat section. What gives? I wonder how many other items are listed as to eat and not to eat in their books. I do like these books however very much. I am learning lots. Just concerned over them recommending this item to eat and not to eat. I hope the author looks at this.

Nice info on good eating for good health. Why don't you add Mangoes and Turmeric to the list. Two of the numerous items not on the average American diet. You'll see/feel the immediate benefits of it with some variations depending on what your eating/drinking habits have been in the past. Note that Turmeric has multiple medicinal effects so ask your doctor how best to consume it. It comes in a concentrated pill/capsule form but obviously in its most basic form as a spice. It's also a blood thinner so use caution as advised by such a professional. The active ingredient in it is called Curcumin.Mango is the undisputed 'king of fruit'. Most people are only just discovering it recently. The one thing that really stands out about it is the sheer heavenly taste, the alluring and appealing look when you pick it out at the market. It tastes like nothing else on the market. Obviously some don't care for it's intense flavor since their tolerance and taste buds don't adjust as easily. It'll come with time as with anything in life. More ethnic people have been using it for a long time, consuming it as a fruit and also in cooking and pickling it.Most Indian restaurants also serve it as a chilled 'lassi' (mango buttermilk) that can also calm down the mouth and stomach from the spiciness. By that I mean the 'hot' spicy as well as the 'flavorful' spicy. If you get pure mango pulp or make your own in a blender, you can make lassi at home. I like to not just blend it with as much or little buttermilk as I like, but sometimes to gently stir it in and use a fork to fluff it around. Consequently when you drink it in the latter form you'll get streaks of more mango or more buttermilk. Our population was beginning to move from down on the farm to the urban areas about to undergo industrial revolution. Our middle class was growing and their demands were beginning to be felt all along the political continnium. Our market economy was transforming the United States into a world power. Religious freedom was giving way to greed and accumulation of wealth. The new generations were miles apart in philosophy from the generation of our Founding Fathers. It was a different America. We marched to the beat of a different drummer. And our representatives were becoming very good at the art of politics. Our Founding Fathers compromised the question of slavery right out of the content of the adopted Declaration of Independence. The generations comprising the years 1816 and on were compromising far greater wants and needs of the general population.The year 1816 was a "provacative look at this watershed year". Our nation was nearing its 50th Anniversary of independence. Washngton and Franklin were gone and most of our Founding Fathers had long passed. Two major contributors of the Class of 1776, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died on July 4th, 1826. Now America was in the political hands of a new generation. Our new leaders were born free Americans. Social and political reform were in the air and a growing feeling of nationalism and the question of slavery were making their presence felt. To understand more fully how we got to where we are today as a nation, the author defines what it was to be an American in 1816. Domestic as well as international demands were making themselves felt. A new breed of American hero, not of Tory lineage but pure blooded American generations that were born after 1776 were taking hold of the reins of our very delicate nation. The year 1816 was big. And a better understanding of its role in the development of our nation will transform the reader into a very informed and enlightened historian.In James Monroe inaugural address of 1816, he welcomed the "increased harmony of opinion which pervades our union." Little did he realize that this opinion would challenge the very existence of our nation when dealing with the question of slavery that they failed to address 40 years earlier in the Declaration Of Independence. This failure to abolish slavery in 1776 would rear its ugly head nearly 85 years later and throw this new nation into a Civil War. This was by far a greater threat to our independence than the Red Coats could have ever mounted against our new and vunerable nation. Nice job by the author C. Edward Skeen and a must read.

I read The Witches of New York last year and enjoyed it immensely. The Birth House, Ami McKay's first novel did not disappoint either. Her second novel, The Virgin Cure, is on my TBR stack. Ms. McKay is a fabulous story teller with engaging plots and interesting characters. So far, her books are about brave women practicing medicine or midwifery in the early 20th century. However, the two books I read are not boilerplate and tell unique stories.The Birth House takes place during WWI in Nova Scotia. Dora Rare is the first daughter born in five generations of Rare sons. This is not the only thing that makes her special. She is singled out by the colorful Miss Babineau an Acadian midwife and healer who takes care of most of the people in their village. She also helps the women with difficult childbirth, infertility, unwanted pregnancies, and sexual problems. Dora assists her and is being groomed to take over. Things are going smoothly until Dr. Gilbert Thomas arrives in town with plans to build a modern and sterile maternity hospital. He hopes Miss Babineau will go away quietly and his threats exposing her "illegal activity" escalate when she continues to assist with births. The bulk of the story is about how Dora comes into her own as a midwife and continues to practice despite Dr. Thomas' threats. It is also about her unhappy marriage to a philandering, irresponsible, but wealthy husband. Despite knowing how to help other women with their troubles, Dora is ill-prepared for marriage. At one point, Dora is treated for "hysteria" by Dr. Thomas with a vibrator. Dora becomes part of a small community of women who help each other and work to protect her midwife practice.As I said in the beginning, Ms. McKay is an excellent story teller. The writing is wonderful. The book contains various fliers and advertisements that are typical of that time period. I am particularly drawn to the story line about women struggling to gain control of their bodies and their right to make decisions about medical treatment, finances, and career. This would be a great book for a book club discussion.

The Birth House chronicles the early life of Dora Rare, the first daughter born into the Rare family in several generations. Dora and her family life a hardscrabble life in Scots Bay, and at some point she goes to live with an elderly midwife/healer, Ms. B.Dora marries and lives on Spider Hill in a house provided by her mother-in-law. Alas, she doesn’t have a “happily ever after” life with the uncouth and philandering Archer. Nor does she endear herself to the new doctor in town, an obstetrician bent on using modern medical techniques in childbirth. Because of certain circumstances, Dora leaves Scots Bay in fear for her life and hides in Boston with one of her brothers and his friends.The author includes a quote by George Sand that somewhat sums up the courage and new way of thinking shown by Dora. “I ask the support of no one, neither to kill someone for me, gather a bouquet, correct a proof, nor go with me to the theatre. I go there on my own, as a man, by choice and when I want flowers, I go on foot, by myself to the Alps.”I enjoyed the novel and wish it hadn’t ended so abruptly. Reading it has given me e a different look at midwifery and sisterhood. Women of all ages, social classes, eras have more in common than not.

This was an exceptional book -the subject matter, plot and characterization were so well-researched and developed that you could really feel that you were there. The story was so interesting that I had a hard time putting it down after the 1st chapter or two. Toward the end, i found myself cheering for Dora and her friends and hoping all would work out well for them. I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys a great story, particularly one about women empowering themselves against great odds.

This sophisticated prose should be read by all women, young women and men. The history of women's rights, being an equal member of society and in control of your own destiny. I would recommend this for every high school freshman english as a must for young ladies. More important now than ever. Education is the way to woman's future. Moms, ask your teen to read this exceptionally well researched fiction. Ask and answer their questions. We as women control the future of our daughters. There was a point in history when men decided what was appropriate for their women, up to and including the delivery of their children. This is the story of Dora Rare, the only female born in generations of Rare males. Dora is considered a weird twist of fate from her birth. And when she learns the art of birthing from an old woman who is the midwife for her cliff top community, she is considered no less weird. A mixture of folk doctor, medicine woman and soothsayer, Miss B practices medicine with experience and an uncanny understanding of women. Dora, hoping to find acceptance with her family and community, marries well. Reluctantly, she carries on Miss B's practices. The result leaves her faced with the fury of a patient's unhinged husband and a "modern" Dr. who thinks of morning sickness as hysteria, while failing to respond to life threatening circumstances. Though she experiences some nasty realities along the way, Dora's story is one of maturation and unfolding purpose.

Very informative. A lot of information on how to get the baby on a sleep schedule that will be best for mom and baby. I think it will definitely help when raising our little one.

Before my daughter was born, I had a couple of friends that bragged about how their babies slept through the night at two months old. They always seemed to keep such a great schedule for their babies. And those babies always seemed so happy.My sister’s kids didn’t sleep through the night until they were over two years old. I knew I did not want this. So I asked my friends how they managed to get their kids to sleep so well. They told me about this book and I literally cannot say enough good about it. I followed the PDF models from birth with my daughter (now 3 years old) and a friend of mine who had a baby three days after me also followed it. Our kids both started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks and have been champion sleepers since.I’m about to have my second baby and am re-reading it. I’m excited to use these methods again to have a great sleeper once again.

I got this book from a friend when I was expecting and loved the advice given and tried to inplement what I could. Before I started reading it, though, I saw a lot of negative reviews about how the author says it's ok for your baby to be hungry so I was very skeptical to start reading; however, that isn't what the book says at all-quite the opposite! It teaches you--among other things-- how to recognize when your baby is hungry versus something else (wet, dirty, cold, tired, etc), how to use a schedule that is flexible so your baby can eat at relatively the same times while still not going hungry, and how to encourage night time sleep. My daughter was a great sleeper right off the bat but using this book has helped me give her better nighttime sleep! I knew not to rush in if she gives off one regular cry because she's likely still sleeping and so many other things. I wasn't able to do the eat, wake time, sleep cycle (believe me, I tried!) since my daughter would want to eat again before sleeping. So I did the eat, sleep, wake and it still worked. My friend who gave it to me said that happened to her middle child and she did the same thing. Whatever works!My daughter is 18 months now and we have used a couple of the other books in the series and my daughter is literally awesome!! I know that using boundaries that were explained in the book has been a huge factor in this. I'm a much more competent parent than I would have been without these books. Thank you Baby Wise!!Also, I have a friend who was super sleep deprived with a three-month-old and I ordered this for her. Her baby went from maybe sleeping 4-5 hours at her longest stretch (which I think was during the day) to sleeping 8 hours at night within a few weeks. She's still working on getting the hours up but I haven't asked to see how diligent she is in the program.

If you're expecting a baby or already have one, do yourself a favor and get this book. It's all about helping your baby to sleep and nap well and reliably, and who doesn't want that? It had tons of sample schedules and lots of troubleshooting tips (e.g. Why is my baby waking up 30min into his nap? Why is my baby hungry early?). Some hospitals specifically advise against this book, but their concerns seem to be about an earlier edition. This is not about strict scheduling, but about encouraging your baby to be consistent with his/her eating and sleeping routines. As adults, we eat and sleep at approximately the same times each day, so why wouldn't we encourage our infants to do the same? Seriously, this book brings some sanity back to the newborn days.

I used this book with my first son and he was sleeping through the night at 12 weeks and has been an amazing sleeper ever since. Celebrated his second birthday yesterday. He takes about a 2 hour nap daily and goes to bed at 6pm. He usually doesn’t wake up till 7:30/8am the following morning. If I could i would shout the praises of this book from the roof tops. My second son is due this December...hoping to have him sleeping through the night closer to 8 weeks like the book boasts. The lie that you won’t sleep when you have children has gone on long enough! It doesn’t have to be true for you! Be the parent...not the follower!

Baby Wise works wonders. We had our 7 week old sleeping 8 hours at night. Now, a year in, we can count on one hand the number of times the baby has woken up early. She never fusses being put down to sleep. Now we give a copy of Baby Wise to every friend and family member who is having their first kid (#2+ the parents are usually too stubborn to change :-).

Great advice and a good reference for schedules. I always recommend this book to new moms.

This book goes against learning and normal development in the relationship of new mothers and their infants. Following the advice given could lead to attachment issues, malnutrition, and generally bad outcomes. I would rather my baby be healthy and loved than to sleep through the night right away. Please research the opposition before following the terrible advice in this book.

This is the BEST book. I recommend it to all my new mom friends!

These are perfect for practicing kana and kanji. Flexible but not totally floppy, 8.5x11x0.25. Covers are thick enough to be useful without being too stiff to interfere with writing and both covers have a space for writing your name, course, work title, etc so you can use the book right to left or left to right, your choice. The spine is square/flat and allows the pages to be opened fully and has a small block for writing a name or number.The book has 112 pages total. Opening left to right (western style), the first page is ruled paper and headlined 'Table of Contents' so you can use it as that or just scratch. The last 2 pages are blank and can be used for whatever. The next to the last page has nice big hiragana and katakana tables with stroke order and romaji reading. 4th and 5th pages from the back are ruled and can be used for whatever. Pages 2-107 representing 53 facing pairs of ruled on the left, and columned boxes on the right. The columned pages have channels between the columns that you could write in the kana (furigana) if you were writing kanji in the column boxes.Overall this is a great notebook for writing kana/kanji on the right hand page and translations, romaji, notes, etc on the left ruled page which is how I am using it. So I write in the right hand column boxes Japanese style (top to bottom, right to left) then write the romaji, translation and notes on the ruled left page. There are 9 columns by 20 boxes on the right hand pages and 27 ruled lines on the left hand ruled pages. This gives you 3 lines of ruled per column if you want to translate, add notes, etc relative to the facing column page. The boxes in the columns are half inch by half inch and the channels between the columns are quarter inch. There is a half inch margin at the bottom of the columned pages so if you have to go over by one character you can. The ruled pages are 3/8th ruled. The pages are white and erase well if using quality pencils and erasers. Paper thickness is adequate and you only get faint impressions through to the next page if at all.Overall, nothing too cramped, nothing too big, exactly what you want. Very well thought out.Do yourself a huge favor and get some quality pencils, erasers, and a sharpener. It makes everything way more enjoyable. Nice genkoyoshi notebook. However, it is quite a bit larger than normal notebooks and the cover is not thick- it's just paper with wax covering. This makes the notebook very susceptible to bending and warping.

I only wish the cover was hard like a regular composition book. Otherwise, this is a really cool notebook.

I love this notebook for practicing kanji. It's not archival quality, nor high end, but perfect beginner's practice notebook. The matte cover really makes it feel nicer than it really is. Will definitely buy another as my practice matures.
