It's a very good publication with daily reminders to living a day at a time.......spiritually and through AA. Make no mistake, this book is used by people in AA and for people who believe in God/a Higher power. I think if you're a spiritual person suffering from an addiction and if you can get past the occasional references to being in AA and you substitute your addiction for alcohol it's a great daily reminder to take things one day at a time. And in reality that's all anyone really has whether you're suffering from an addiction or not.
Too big, I should have paid an extra dollar or two for a smaller one. This is a full page size book and I would love a smaller one to keep in my purse. The words are irreplaceable though!
I've been reading this treasure of a book for over 36 years, every morning of my precious sobriety. It's "new" every day as I grow spiritually every day, every week, every month, every year. Peace. Love.
Instead of being one day per page or even one day per column it is just a running non-stop continuum of days. Yes the material is great and that is what most of the reviews are about but do no make my mistake and thinking you are getting a standard daily devotional. I am shocked Hazelden would put out a product of this quality.
I received this book from A very dear friend while I was just starting my celebrity and it proved to be the best gift I had ever gotten! I have since then bought 3 more for my dear friends! the best short and to the point you will ever want! God and this book saved my life!!!
I was unaware that it was a larger book (approx 9"x11") and not the smaller / personal sized (4"x6") product that I usually purchase. We have used this book for years in our offices. I has helped, inspired and provoked many people to positive actions in their lives. I appreciate the spiritual references. Watch out for the size of the book you choose!
This book is not the same size as ordinary daily meditation books. Its not well designed. It has many days on each page that do not start or end in a very orderly fashion. The book itself is floppy and difficult to hold.
Excellent for those in recovery of addiction of all kinds as well as those who want to better themselves.
