I've not only purchased this book, but I also bought all of her pdf instant coloring books on Etsy under "colorbyculture". The fashions are quite good, but again, what I truly enjoy coloring are Diana's original & realistic portrait illustrations of young women with different ethnicities. These are the best coloring books for skin, hair & eyes that I've seen (& I've purchased a lot coloring books...:)!!! You truly won't be disappointed with the purchase of this book and/or any of Diana Murray's work!!!!! I

Beautiful Bible with excerpts of CS Lewis applied throughout. The input of CS Lewis has helped me to better understand the context of certain verses and gives me a new perspective of things. It's been a great way to see the Bible in a new light, while not straying away at all from the Word. The CS Lewis enhances, doesn't distract.

This is a first rate Bible, I genuinely love it and highly recommend it. It has succeeded in its mission (to me) to "help the reader interact more with Scripture", In short, it's uses an NRSV translation (my preference and highly reliable/readable/accurate), has a beautiful genuine leather cover which is a deep rich brown, a very nice size that lays perfectly in your lap or reading surface and insights from Lewis are spread throughout the text which amplify the Scripture rather than crowd it out like many study bibles I've used. I have been a Christian for over 15 years, I recommend this Bible highly, as you consistently use it, it will fuel your spiritual growth in Christ as your mind is transformed.

I don't know whether I love the Bible translation, but I do love the binding and the C.S. Lewis quotes throughout the Bible. There are a lot of new ones I'd never seen, from personal letters and such. Lots of inspiration and encouragement there.

Love this book. The translation is a little awkward sometimes, but that's probably because I was raised with the glowing eloquence of the King James. I got the book for its topical excerpts from all of C.S. Lewis's works, and on that front it does not disappoint. The book is filled with passages and all of them referenced to a particular chapter and verse of the Bible for reflection. No substitute for reading the Bible in its own, and no substitute for reading Lewis's works in their entirety, but on its own it is an incredible experience.

I'll list the good and the bad, starting with the bad.The bad:The only thing I do not like is the color scheme and design on the cover. I bought the hardback version (mainly because I've never owned a hardback Bible) and was hoping that once I removed the dust cover there would be a blank book underneath. No such luck. There was the same horrible colors and design underneath on the book itself. Of course, someone might like it, but I'm very put off by it. I now wish I'd have gone with the leather-bound version.Now for the good:Inside the book it gets better--way better. The font style, design, and layout of this Bible are the best I've ever seen. Why they did not keep it that classy on the outside I'll never know. The book titles are stylishly written, not quite Celtic or Medieval, but just very tasteful with an old-world look and appeal; and there is ornamentation in various places on the pages. I'm not sure what to call it but I like it.The pages have plenty of blank space left on either side, as well as above and below the text. Many Bibles have the pages crammed and crowded, but this one seems to let the text breathe; it just makes it more appealing and readable to my eye. And the pages are so beautiful that for the first time in my life I hesitate to mark it up and make my own notes.Then there is Lewis sprinkled here and there. Never too much, but just about as many "notes" as I wanted and hoped to see. The publishers kept it to where you could reference Lewis if you wanted, or just choose to leave him out entirely for a given session in the Bible.There's a preface written by Douglas Gresham, and there is an informative Introduction and detailed notes to the reader by other Lewis scholars--all of which I found interesting and helpful.I've never owned an NRSV Bible before, but I'm enjoying the flow and feel of the translation.This is not C.S. Lewis "teaching you the Bible." If you're looking for a "Study Bible" where the scripture will be explained and broken down for you, this is not the route to take. But if you're interested in some of the thoughts of C.S. Lewis to go with your Bible reading, this is perfect. And if you're looking for something of quality, that is aesthetically pleasing, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better, in my opinion.I will be spending a lot of time with my copy.

Interesting if you like CS Lewis. Best possible translation, in my opinion, other than maybe CEB. The text stands on its own with only occasional notes on Lewis’s views and excerpts from his classic books scattered throughout. No attempt is made to read the whole Bible for you.

I don't have this version of the Bible so I was pleased it was a different translation than what I have. His notes throughout the book corresponding to different passages are great study aids.

“Twigs” by Yvonne Brewer is a fantastic journey. I was taken away to magical places and times with each poem. Her style is crisp and clear and understandable. I loved the entire book. One of my favorite poems was “Spring Sends Love Letters” where the opening stanza filled me with delight:“Spring sendslove lettersto Summer,written in ink of greena love affair blossomingsecret nocturnal awakenings,”“Meet me” Yvonne’s closing poem is an emotional triumph:“meet me atthe edge of the worldwhere earth merges with water …”There are so many wonderful examples of fine poetry, but I will just mention a few that spoke to me on a personal level. The tile poem “Twigs,” the opening poem ”Mine,” “Bright Star,” “The call,” and the list goes on.This is a book that you will want to pick up and read again and again, each time discovering a new feeling from each poem as seasons and elements unfold before your mind’s eye.

At the mention of losing herself in honeysuckle instead of tears in the very first poem, Yvonne swept me away—on fairy wings and across dandelion fields—to magical places known only to mothers, pagans, goddess worshipers, grieving hearts.
