This book was such a disappointment it lacked so much originality and creativity and clearly pulled from her pool of experience on the OJ Simpson trial. there were so many so that similarities such as the white SUV in the book and the white Bronco in the real incident the protagonist in the book has three name's oj Simpson has three names there was so many things, even to the point where one of the names of the attorneys was ...Bailey was one in real life and then there was a character in the book named Bailey.I mean there were so many things that were similar it was such a distraction. I could not enjoy the book and want my .99 refunded.

I think I've seen it on a couple other shows of similar ilk.For $0.99 it was worth it. And, like I said, if I'd done my due diligence, I still would have bought it, but wouldn't have been so upset on page 45 to find the end!

Marcia Clark has become one of my favorite authors. I have read all of her books and can't wait for the next! The characters are believeable and plots all have a twist that are logical - but you don't see them coming! I highly recommend the Rachel Knight series - I've read them all!

This was a very interesting read but I tell you I really felt short changed. I have read all Ms Clark books and when I purchased this one I was expecting the same type as the others but instead of the build from tracking down the killer and taking him to trial, this one was so short and most of it was in the courtroom.From that point of view it was very good and even with the suspense of will she prove he did it, it was intense. Ms Clark certainly has a way with words and this one loved up to her writing style.A short but very good read for all mystery readers.

I wanted to read this book because of course I remember who Marcia Clark is. I thought it would be interesting. And it was. But I thought it was a little wooden. I also would have liked a longer book, something with more detail and maybe even a plot. Even though I gave this story a 3, I think I will read another one of her works, just to see if she gets any better, before I give up on her completely.

I've bought all of Marcia Clark's books. I absolutely love her writing style and hope she continues to write more. The only problem with this work was that it was too short.

I like the way Marcia Clark writes. She captures your interest immediately and it is fun to see if you can figure out the ending by picking up clues along the way. I have read the other Rachel Knight stories and am looking forward to the next one. The heroine is gutsy and is not afraid to stand up for justice instead of just doing her job. She goes beyond, even though she puts her job in jeopardy. She believes in truth and integrity, qualities that are sorely lacking in much of life today. I believe in the message that life is not what it seems on the surface and you need to look deeper to find the truth.

If I’m Dead is a fast, fun read albeit very predictable. The book is my fifth Marcia Clark book although this writing is really not a book but rather a very short story. It does, however, have the usual players: Rachel, Bailey, Dorian and even Toni who makes her normal two-sentence appearance. Recommend the read for your lunch break entertainment or while on a 25-minute treadmill jog. Okay, Marcia, we’re breathlessly awaiting your next exciting full-length Rachel novel, soo, get busy.

Now, in all fairness, I've been doing campfire cooking for a long time so if you are new to it, I'm sure this book would be a good place to start.

Gave these books as part of a larger gift with smore fixings: marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate, plus skewers. Great gift!

Ordered this for my grandsons 3rd birthday camping party and it was a huge hit amongst all the kids and the parents!

I bought this for my son, a Cub Scout leader. He says it's just the thing for teaching basic cooking skills to the boys while camping.

There are some great ideas and recipes for both the veteran and new camper alike. New, simple, no fuss recipes for kid friendly camping foods beyond the hotdog.

I think the book could have been directed more to kids, than adults. Seemed to present common sense things to do at a campfire.

it was a good addtition to the cookbook collection at the library.

This is a great book about writing that generalizes to any creative endeavor in your life. Little of the advice given in the book is directly related to writing. Almost all of the advice applies equally well to any part of your life where you are held back by self-criticism, unrealistic expectations, and unclear thinking. Ueland's approach is honest and direct and inspiring.Unfortunately, the BN Publishing edition - a print on demand service - is terrible. There are missing letters, missing words, odd line jumps, and other marks of a hasty electronic conversion.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in doing any creative work. But I would also urge you to buy a different edition.

I love the original book, but this one, although it contains the same copy, is very poorly arranged and has typos that detract from it. I bought it to give as a gift, but I didn't give it, but bought the original instead. Brenda Ueland deserves better than a poorly put together version of her excellent, timeless book.

I bought this book based upon Guy Kawasaki's over the top guarantee that if you don't like it, he'll give you your money back. Considering that he is just a fan, and not the publisher, and that I'm an admirer of his writing, I bought it. I am not disappointed.This is a charming book about creativity and doing your creative work without fear. The author is a writer so it focuses more on writing than other creative tasks, but she assures us repeatedly that her advice is universal regardless of medium.Her writing style has charm, I don't know how else to put it, and it has the cadence of its time, the 1930's. That the book is still in print more than 70 years after its publication date says much about the universal ideas within and the quality of its expression.

Others have done a thorough job of reviewing the contents of this slim book. My review is about the context - this current BN Publishing edition could have been a gem with some care and effort. Sadly it is below par. First of all, there are many careless typos and haphazard blank lines within paragraphs throughout the book. Although this work was first published in 1938, there is no indication of its original copyright or publishing history. Apparently this publisher acquired the copyright in 2008 and cares nothing for what transpired before. Even more glaring, there is no introduction to give the contemporary reader a sense of how and why these insights have transcended time and are still important today. A short biography of the author would also have been in keeping with a book that has been around for approximately 75 years. If you purchase If You Want To Write, look into finding a different edition.

I did love this book. She was writing at a different time, early 1900's, and had a very different life than I did - but it was as though she was speaking directly to me about being able to express who I am without fear. I bought 4 more copies of this book to give to my children and grandchildren.

Guy Kawasaki lists "If You Want to Write: A Book About Art, Independence and Spirit" as one of his top reads of all time. Being a writer (Catholic Business Journal, blogs, and Amazon book reviews), an oil painter, and curious, I picked up a copy to see why all the fuss about a book that was originally published in 1938. I have since learned that none other than Carl Sandburg provided his endorsement to "The best book ever written about how to write."Author Brenda Ueland was born in Minneapolis (my former home) in 1891, and lived on Lake Calhoun (the lake featured in the Mary Tyler Moore show's opening clip). She was knighted by the King of Norway and set an international swimming record (for over-80-year-olds). She died in 1985 at the age of 93.This book, according to many preceding me, has inspired thousands to find the creative genius buried deep within, and to express it without any regard to "criticism, self-doubt, duty, nervous fear, anxiety, about making a living, and fear of not excelling." Ueland affirms that we are all filled with possibility, have a creative power which be kept alive in all of us for all of our lives. It is our Spirit and we keep it alive by using it.This book is a gem and is bound to inspire all to open up, explore their Spirit, and put it to good use. I would expand Sandburg's quote to - maybe the best book ever written on using our inner genius and creativity, whether it is writing, composing, or the visual arts. I enjoyed "If You Want to Write" and found an even greater freedom of artistic expression. I, too, get bottled up with concern about criticism, and self-doubt.

This is my favorite writing book (as an author of 36 published books). It is also one of my favorite books to re-read. I read it over again to experience my visit with Brenda Ueland afresh as well as to be reminded of what she teaches. Though she has gone on to her reward long ago she still speaks. She penned this book in 1938 and it still sells well. Carl Sandburg said it may have been the best book about writing he'd ever read. She doesn't deal with dry grammar and such, but deals with the human spirit and how to communicate with -- what she calls -- "microscopic truthfullness". My favorite quotes from this book, which I carry in my heart, are these: "Everyone is unique, talented, and has something important to say..." along with "Writing is talking on paper." It is delightful to see Ms Ueland demonstrate what she teaches in her own writing and that of the humble students in her class whose writing samples she shares. I don't think I have ever left a review, but I LOVE using my skintone markers coloring this artist's work!!! I've not only purchased this book, but I also bought all of her pdf instant coloring books on Etsy under "colorbyculture". The fashions are quite good, but again, what I truly enjoy coloring are Diana's original & realistic portrait illustrations of young women with different ethnicities. These are the best coloring books for skin, hair & eyes that I've seen (& I've purchased a lot coloring books...:)!!! You truly won't be disappointed with the purchase of this book and/or any of Diana Murray's work!!!!! I

Beautiful Bible with excerpts of CS Lewis applied throughout. The input of CS Lewis has helped me to better understand the context of certain verses and gives me a new perspective of things. It's been a great way to see the Bible in a new light, while not straying away at all from the Word. The CS Lewis enhances, doesn't distract.

This is a first rate Bible, I genuinely love it and highly recommend it. It has succeeded in its mission (to me) to "help the reader interact more with Scripture", In short, it's uses an NRSV translation (my preference and highly reliable/readable/accurate), has a beautiful genuine leather cover which is a deep rich brown, a very nice size that lays perfectly in your lap or reading surface and insights from Lewis are spread throughout the text which amplify the Scripture rather than crowd it out like many study bibles I've used. I have been a Christian for over 15 years, I recommend this Bible highly, as you consistently use it, it will fuel your spiritual growth in Christ as your mind is transformed.

I don't know whether I love the Bible translation, but I do love the binding and the C.S. Lewis quotes throughout the Bible. There are a lot of new ones I'd never seen, from personal letters and such. Lots of inspiration and encouragement there.

Love this book. The translation is a little awkward sometimes, but that's probably because I was raised with the glowing eloquence of the King James. I got the book for its topical excerpts from all of C.S. Lewis's works, and on that front it does not disappoint. The book is filled with passages and all of them referenced to a particular chapter and verse of the Bible for reflection. No substitute for reading the Bible in its own, and no substitute for reading Lewis's works in their entirety, but on its own it is an incredible experience.

I'll list the good and the bad, starting with the bad.The bad:The only thing I do not like is the color scheme and design on the cover. I bought the hardback version (mainly because I've never owned a hardback Bible) and was hoping that once I removed the dust cover there would be a blank book underneath. No such luck. There was the same horrible colors and design underneath on the book itself. Of course, someone might like it, but I'm very put off by it. I now wish I'd have gone with the leather-bound version.Now for the good:Inside the book it gets better--way better. The font style, design, and layout of this Bible are the best I've ever seen. Why they did not keep it that classy on the outside I'll never know. The book titles are stylishly written, not quite Celtic or Medieval, but just very tasteful with an old-world look and appeal; and there is ornamentation in various places on the pages. I'm not sure what to call it but I like it.The pages have plenty of blank space left on either side, as well as above and below the text. Many Bibles have the pages crammed and crowded, but this one seems to let the text breathe; it just makes it more appealing and readable to my eye. And the pages are so beautiful that for the first time in my life I hesitate to mark it up and make my own notes.Then there is Lewis sprinkled here and there. Never too much, but just about as many "notes" as I wanted and hoped to see. The publishers kept it to where you could reference Lewis if you wanted, or just choose to leave him out entirely for a given session in the Bible.There's a preface written by Douglas Gresham, and there is an informative Introduction and detailed notes to the reader by other Lewis scholars--all of which I found interesting and helpful.I've never owned an NRSV Bible before, but I'm enjoying the flow and feel of the translation.This is not C.S. Lewis "teaching you the Bible." If you're looking for a "Study Bible" where the scripture will be explained and broken down for you, this is not the route to take. But if you're interested in some of the thoughts of C.S. Lewis to go with your Bible reading, this is perfect. And if you're looking for something of quality, that is aesthetically pleasing, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better, in my opinion.I will be spending a lot of time with my copy.

Interesting if you like CS Lewis. Best possible translation, in my opinion, other than maybe CEB. The text stands on its own with only occasional notes on Lewis’s views and excerpts from his classic books scattered throughout. No attempt is made to read the whole Bible for you.

I don't have this version of the Bible so I was pleased it was a different translation than what I have. His notes throughout the book corresponding to different passages are great study aids.
