Review
"Wizard schools and teen vampires are child's play. This is the origin of sorcery and vampire tales. Noah Primeval will keep you on the edge of your seat with its primal struggle of good and evil. It reads like a Blockbuster movie!" - Ralph Winter, Producer, X-Men, Planet of the Apes "A great, spiritual fantasy full of thought and imagination. The cinema-like action and suspense will keep you turning pages until you are finished, while the themes and concepts will remain long after you're done." - Bill Myers - Bestselling Author, The God Hater "A stirring tale of gods and men that confronts us with biblical reality through mythical fantasy. Noah Primeval is what Tolkien called "sanctifying myth" that we need in our own place and time." - Michael S. Heiser, PhD, Hebrew and Semitic Languages Academic Editor, Logos Bible Software

From the Inside Flap
Godawa is known as an author who both entertains and educates. Inspired by Michael Crichton's novels, Godawa has adapted his Hollywood screenwriting background into his prose style to create a reading experience that is like watching a movie. Also similar to Crichton, Godawa has sought to provide the scholarly research that undergirds the fictional adventure. Noah Primeval has an additional 100 pages of special appendixes that provide an explanation of Biblical concepts in the novel such as the Sons of God, the Nephilim, Leviathan, and the ancient Mesopotamian Cosmography in the Bible. Noah Primeval is written in the spirit of the book of Enoch, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Lord of the Rings, blending fantasy and mythopoeia with history to retell the Biblical narrative with a fresh perspective, while staying true to the original spirit of the story.

“Noah Primeval†(Chronicles of the Nephilim Book 1) Book was OK but author drifted much from what the Scripture says. He describes Noah as being arrogant and stubborn. The Bible tells us Noah was righteous. How Noah got into the Ark was different from the Bible. The age of Noah’s three sons was different from the Bible. He had Shem as the elder when the Bible says Japheth was the elder, (Genesis, 10:21). The Bible tells us that Shem was 100 years old two years after the Flood when his son Arphaxad was born. The book says Ham is over 100 years old prior to the Flood and the Bible tells us Ham was the younger, (Genesis 9:24). The book has a stowaway on the Ark…This is contrary to the Bible. The book was OK fantasy but was far from being Biblical. I believe the book would have been better if the author stayed closer to the facts of the Bible.
I typically do not like to write book reviews on Amazon. My rationale is that I paid for the book, so that is sufficient endorsement – especially sequels. If the first book was not good, I wouldn’t bother reading the second in a series, or the third, and so forth. However, as a 48-year old attorney who became a Christ follower at the age of 18 years and four months, I feel compelled to write a review for the author, Brian Godawa. Prior to my 18th year, I attended church probably less than 10 times between the age of four and 18. Upon my conversion, I immediately fell in love with the works of Paul and much of the New Testament. However, when trying to read the Old Testament and the book of Revelation, I hit a brick wall. Over time, I routinely gave up after trying to read much of the Old Testament, and I certainly wasn’t going to attempt deciphering Revelation. I attended fundamentalist Christian churches and essentially followed the line of premillennialism without questioning why or even wondering about alternative viewpoints. When a good church friend mentioned the “potential†existence of giants to me in the Old Testament, I didn’t understand what he was mentioning. From there, I read Dr. Michael Heiser’s book The Unseen Realm. I then stumbled onto Brian Godawa’s series of books entitled the Nephilim Chronicles (eight books in total). Thereafter, I began reading the series Chronicles of The Apocalypse (three to date with a fourth book in production as of this review). Over the years, I’ve learned to tolerate the treadmill and elliptical machine with both e-books and audiobooks, especially when they are synchronized so that I can visually read while listening. Having studied for the bar exam in the past, I discovered by accident that I learned much better both reading and listening. I also enjoy listening in the car and reading in my spare time. To my delight, Brian Godawa has recorded for Audible most of his books, including all of the books in the Nephilim Chronicles and the Chronicles of The Apocalypse. The books in both series read like action adventure novels. And as James Caan says in the Godfather, “bada-bing, bada-boomâ€, my understanding of the Old Testament, and the New Testament was enriched behind my imagination. Brian Godawa has fueled a fire which was at best a simmer in my spiritual life. As Christians, our heritage is so much more than we typically experience. Godawa has weaved into his books portions of texts which were utilized by first century Christians and Jews when interpreting the Old Testament, writings of early church leaders as well as what was then the oral supplement to the Hebrew scriptures that centuries later evolved into Mishnahs within the Babylonian and Palestinian Talmuds. After reading Godawa’s series Nephilim Chronicles and Chronicles of The Apocalypse, I also recommend reading his books End Times Bible Prophecy and God Against the Gods: Storytelling, Imagination and Apologetics in the Bible. Even if you eventually embrace what is described as a “Sethite†view in connection with the references to Nephilim in Genesis 6, and even if you reject the partial preterist viewpoint which is the underlying theme in Godawa’s Chronicles of The Apocalypse, your knowledge of scripture will be greatly expanded. The end result is you will be thinking, questioning, and learning to love scripture all the more. Brian Godawa’s storytelling is perhaps the greatest proponent of his viewpoints on the Nephilim and eschatology. His storytelling makes me appreciate a victory that I never really understood or appreciated – the victory of divine storytelling in the greatest book of all.
I purchased this book less than a week ago for my son and I to read, and six days later we finished it. I recommend the young adult version for the older child. We loved this so much I purchased the rest of the series. I am thrilled that Brian Godawa pulls it altogether staying with the word for his foundation. This book really sheds light on the reason for the flood, and who the real enemy is. You can't sugar coat what they were doing, and the corruption of all of creation. If we let the History channel tell us who the Annunaki where, we'll all for the alien deception of them seeding us here, but if we know the truth about them, that they are the fallen angels, then we won't fall for it. We will know thy enemy. This book is fabulous mixing truth with fiction! Couldn't put it down! It makes me hate the fallen ones even more. I didn't know there were young adult versions of these books, so I skipped some of it, while I read to my 10 year old. I got the others in the young adult copies. Looking forward to an excellent journey through the series. Thank you Brain for writing these, you truly are gifted. My son wanted me to read instead of watching a movie every night.
